She is a Rio de Janeiro-based designer who has built her career on a curious perspective of the lifestyle of those who live near the beach in Rio de Janeiro. Enthralled by the serendipity and energy of a coastal city, she translates this experience into an aesthetic that balances naturalness, precision, and freedom.
Her curiosity about vintage, revisited through a contemporary lens, found its most authentic expression in beachwear—initially conceived for the runway. There, she developed her own language, moving away from the traditional codes of Rio beachwear by proposing precise shapes, unexpected cutouts, and pieces that go beyond the beach, keeping pace with a day that stretches into the night, between the sea, the city, and the gathering.
At the helm of Haight, Marcella and her predominantly female team design a less literal summer—where time slows down, the body breathes, and clothing becomes an extension of a more mindful and intuitive way of living.
